ICalSync — Privacy & Terms

Calendar scopes, what is stored, for how long, the terms of use, and billing and refunds.

Privacy Policy

In Short

  • We do not store the content of your events. ICalSync reads them from the calendars you connect when a sync runs, writes them where you asked, and keeps only what it needs to recognise them next time (an event identifier and a fingerprint).
  • What we store: your e-mail, your plan, the settings of each synchronization (the calendar link or connected calendar, the target calendar, your options), and the credentials that let the sync run while you are away: the Google refresh token of your account, and for each calendar account you connect, its refresh token (Google, Microsoft) or app-specific password (Apple iCloud). Credentials are encrypted at rest.
  • We access only the calendars you pick, only to do the synchronization you set up: one-way copies events into your Google Calendar; two-way also copies the events you create in Google into the connected calendar, marked so ICalSync recognises them.
  • We do not sell your data or share it, except with Polar (polar.sh), which processes payments for paid plans and receives your e-mail address for that purpose, and PostHog, which receives product usage events under a random identifier (never your calendar content or e-mail).
  • The app’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Connected calendar accounts

You can connect calendars from other accounts so ICalSync can read them, and, if you choose two-way, write to them:

ICalSync never asks for your Apple ID password: an app-specific password cannot be used to sign in to your Apple account or change it, ICalSync only uses it for the calendars you pick, and you can revoke it at any time on account.apple.com. You can revoke ICalSync’s access to a Microsoft account at account.microsoft.com (Privacy › Apps and services) or, for a work account, ask your administrator; for Google, at myaccount.google.com › Security › Third-party access.

In ICalSync, Connect a calendar › Connected accounts › Disconnect deletes the stored credentials immediately, stops the synchronizations of that account and removes the events and copies they made.

Rental export links

For rental properties, ICalSync gives you secret calendar links to paste into Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo or Expedia. Those links only show “Blocked” dates (no titles, guests or descriptions), are built when the channel asks for them, and stop working as soon as you renew them or delete the property.

Why is my information needed?

ICalSync is a web based product; because of this they may require the use of first and last names, billing contact information, and a Google account as a login. Therefore, at a minimum, we may require such necessary information in order to establish your account with us.

What information does ICalSync gather/track and how is it used?

PERSONAL INFORMATION:

We collect personal information from users including (at minimum) first and last names, and a Google Apps email address to be used as a login. When a user registers online for a trial version of our products, ICalSync will take steps to verify the email address supplied to us to ensure it is accurate. Upgrading to the full version of our products requires ICalSync to collect billing and payment information via one of our payment processing partners such as Paypal, Stripe or other similar applications. Your email address may be used to send you periodic product newsletters, offers and usage tips from ICalSync . You can opt out of promotional emails at any time, but will still receive communications such as receipts, confirmation emails and customer service updates that are considered necessary to provide the service to you. We use the information collected to deliver services, update our records, communicate with you about products and services, and generally maintain your accounts with us. We will retain your information for as long as your account is active, as needed to provide you services, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you wish to cancel your account or request that we no longer use your information to provide you services contact us on the contact page. We do not share, sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties except as described in this privacy policy. Information gathered at ICalSync is done so on a voluntary basis.

BUSINESS INFORMATION:

Information that is collected by our products is considered confidential. We will not view Business Information except as necessary to appropriately support the service or as required by law. (Business Information includes app data, documents, files, configuration settings and any other business information stored on ICalSync applications). We will not view Business Information, except as necessary to appropriately support the service, for the purpose of anticipating, diagnosing, supporting or resolving any problems that might limit or disrupt the quality of our customers’ service experience or as required by law.

PARTNERS:

In some cases we provide services or sell product lines jointly with other businesses. For these co-branded offerings in which a third party is involved in your transactions, we will sometimes share or jointly collect customer information related to those transactions with that third party. On the co-branded registration pages we will state who is collecting or receiving the information and whose privacy statement governs its use so that you will know at the time you create your account exactly how your information will be used. If you are registered with ICalSync through a partnership and you request to opt out of receiving promotional updates we will also provide your email address to that partner so that they may also discontinue sending you messages on behalf of ICalSync .

SESSION RECORDS:

To maintain our quality of service and to assist in the analysis of product performance, we may also gather data on connection information, including the timing and size of all packets sent over the Internet during a session. The gathered information is used only to ensure the highest quality experience possible when using ICalSync applications.

SECURITY INFORMATION:

ICalSync also collects certain standard information about your computer for security and identification purposes. This information may include: IP addresses, domain names, access times, cookies and other unique identifying information of machines that have our software downloaded and installed on them. This information is used for the operation of the service, to identify and protect our customers and to control unauthorized use or abuse of our services. All information is encrypted during transmission and is stored securely within our servers.

SURVEYS:

In addition to required member information, we may conduct surveys and ask users to volunteer demographic information to be used on an aggregate basis for internal market research, presentation to advertisers and joint research projects with outside companies involved in product development. We use such information to better focus our product and personalize the scope of services offered to each individual user.

WEB ANALYTICS:

We continuously improve our websites and utilize different web analytic tools to help us do so. We are interested in how visitors use our websites, what they like and dislike, and where they have problems. We also use web analytic tools on our mobile applications to help gather non-personally identifiable data about download and application usage. In our use of web analytics we do collect GeoLocation data, but it is only on an aggregate basis and not tied to any individual. The web beacons used in connection with our web analytics services do not share any personally identifiable information about our website and application visitors with third parties. Our tools may gather data such as what browser a person uses, what operating systems are used, what is downloaded, and what content, products and services are reviewed when visiting or registering for services at one of our websites or mobile applications. This information is used solely to assist ICalSync in maintaining a more effective and useful website for our customers. We track aggregate traffic patterns throughout our site but we do not correlate this information with personally identifiable data about individual users. We track domain names, browser types and MIME type. Such information will not be passed to third parties without your prior consent unless where required by applicable law.

With whom does ICalSync share the information?

Ensuring your privacy is important to us. We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to third parties. ICalSync applications and services by necessity require us to provide some of your information to third parties. We may occasionally employ other companies to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include processing credit card payments, sending postal mail and email, analyzing data and providing marketing assistance. They have access to personal information needed only to perform their functions and may not use it for any other purpose. Furthermore, they must process the personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Also, in the event that ICalSync or the majority of its assets are acquired, customer information will be one of the transferred assets. ICalSync does not control the practices of our affiliates. If you have questions about how affiliates use the information gathered when you link to them, please read their privacy policies. Links to other sites: This website may contain links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by ICalSync . Please be aware that we, ICalSync , are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information.

How does ICalSync protect my information from loss, misuse or alteration?

ICalSync has implemented commercially reasonable precautions designed to protect the web sites and applications it hosts and the information it collects from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Nevertheless, we remind you that no security measure is perfect. ICalSync applications are accessed via Google Apps user accounts. ICalSync is not liable for loss of passwords due to user carelessness. If you lose control over your Google account, you may lose control over your personally identifiable information. If you believe your Google Account has been compromised, we recommend that you immediately change your password or activate Google’s 2 step authentication.

How long does ICalSync retain data?

ICalSync keeps your account and synchronization settings while you use the add-on. Deleting a synchronization removes its settings; disconnecting an account deletes its credentials at once. To close your ICalSync account and erase everything we store about you, e-mail support-icalsync@futzs.com; it is done within 30 days. Payment records kept by Polar follow Polar’s own retention rules.

Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions (“Agreement”) sets forth the general terms and conditions of your use of the “ICalSync” application (“Application”, “Service”, “App”, or “Add-on”) and any of its related products and services (collectively, “Services”). This Agreement is legally binding between you (“User”, “you” or “your”) and this Application developer (“Operator”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

By accessing and using the Application and Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. If you are entering into this Agreement on behalf of a business or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity to this Agreement, in which case the terms “User”, “you” or “your” shall refer to such entity. If you do not have such authority, or if you do not agree with the terms of this Agreement, you must not accept this Agreement and may not access and use the Application and Services.

You acknowledge that this Agreement is a contract between you and the Operator, even though it is electronic and is not physically signed by you, and it governs your use of the Application and Services.

Acceptance of Terms

You acknowledge that you have read this Agreement and agree to all its terms and conditions. By accessing and using the Application and Services you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the terms of this Agreement, you are not authorized to access or use the Application and Services.

Specifically, ICalSync can only be installed from the Google Workspace Marketplace and when installing, Google will prompt you to accept this Agreement: “By clicking Continue, you acknowledge that your information will be used in accordance with the terms of service and privacy policy of this application.”

Description of Service

“ICalSync” is an add-on for Google Calendar that copies the events of calendars you choose (iCal (.ics) links, other Google accounts, Outlook / Microsoft 365 and Apple iCloud calendars) into the Google Calendars you choose and keeps them up to date; on request it also copies your Google events back to a connected calendar (two-way), and for rental hosts it publishes blocked-dates links for booking channels. The Service is offered and provided subject to these Terms.

The Service requires a Google account (Gmail or Google Workspace account) and a Google Calendar the add-on is allowed to write to. Connecting another calendar account requires that you are allowed to use that account and its calendars. Two-way synchronization writes to the connected calendar: events are edited or deleted where they were created, and copies follow their original.

You understand and acknowledge that You are solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining the Internet access and all equipment necessary to use the Service, for appropriately configuring Your Google account, and for creating and managing the datasource and its content. All fees associated with the foregoing shall be paid by You.

Use of Service

If you create a Google account to use the Add-on, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and you are fully responsible for all activities that occur under the account and any other actions taken in connection with it. We will not be liable for any acts or omissions by you, including any damages of any kind incurred as a result of such acts or omissions.

We may suspend, disable, or delete your ICalSync account (or any part thereof) if we determine that you have violated any provision of this Agreement or that your conduct or content would tend to damage our reputation and goodwill. If we delete your account for the foregoing reasons, you may not re-register for our Services. We may block your email address and Internet protocol address to prevent further registration.

Google might also suspend, disable, or delete your Google account if they determine that you have violated any provision of their Agreement or that your conduct or content would tend to damage their reputation and goodwill. We will not be liable for any act from Google on your Google account.

Prohibited Uses

In addition to other terms as set forth in the Agreement, you are prohibited from using the Add-on and Services or Content:

for any unlawful purpose;

to solicit others to perform or participate in any unlawful acts;

to violate any international, federal, provincial or state regulations, rules, laws, or local ordinances;

to infringe upon or violate our intellectual property rights or the intellectual property rights of others;

to harass, abuse, insult, harm, defame, slander, disparage, intimidate, or discriminate based on gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, race, age, national origin, or disability;

to submit false or misleading information;

to upload or transmit viruses or any other type of malicious code that will or may be used in any way that will affect the functionality or operation of the Application and Services, third party products and services, or the Internet;

to spam, phish, pharm, pretext, spider, crawl, or scrape;

for any obscene or immoral purpose;

to interfere with or circumvent the security features of the Application and Services, third party products and services, or the Internet.

We reserve the right to terminate your use of the Application and Services for violating any of the prohibited uses.

Intellectual property rights

“Intellectual Property Rights” means all present and future rights conferred by statute, common law or equity in or in relation to any copyright and related rights, trademarks, designs, patents, inventions, goodwill and the right to sue for passing off, rights to inventions, rights to use, and all other intellectual property rights, in each case whether registered or unregistered and including all applications and rights to apply for and be granted, rights to claim priority from, such rights and all similar or equivalent rights or forms of protection and any other results of intellectual activity which subsist or will subsist now or in the future in any part of the world.

This Agreement does not transfer to you any intellectual property owned by the Operator or third parties, and all rights, titles, and interests in and to such property will remain (as between the parties) solely with the Operator. All trademarks, service marks, graphics and logos used in connection with the Application and Services, are trademarks or registered trademarks of the Operator or its licensors. Other trademarks, service marks, graphics and logos used in connection with the Application and Services may be the trademarks of other third parties. Your use of the Application and Services grants you no right or license to reproduce or otherwise use any of the Operator or third party trademarks.

Changes and Amendments

These Terms are subject to occasional revision, and we reserve the right to modify this Agreement or its terms relating to the Add-on and Services at any time, effective upon posting of an updated version of this Agreement.

If your business or legal entity needs to be explicitly notified in case of changes to the terms, you may send an email to support-ICalSync@futzs.com to be added to our notification list.

Plans, Billing and Refunds

Free trial. A new account gets a 14-day free trial with Pro limits. No payment card is needed. We e-mail you before the trial ends.

After the trial. Without a paid plan, nothing is deleted: your oldest calendar keeps syncing once a day and your other calendars are paused until you subscribe.

Paid plans. Plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance, at the price shown before you pay. Customers in the European Union are charged in EUR, others in USD.

Merchant of record. Payments are processed by Polar Software Inc. (polar.sh), which acts as our merchant of record: Polar sells the subscription to you, issues the invoices and receipts, and collects and remits VAT and sales tax. Polar’s own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment.

Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from ICalSync > Dashboard > Manage Billing. The plan stays active until the end of the period already paid, then the account returns to the limits described above. Yearly plans receive a reminder e-mail 7 days before they renew.

Refunds. If ICalSync does not work for you, contact support-icalsync@futzs.com within 14 days of a payment and we will refund it in full. Consumers in the EU and UK also keep their statutory right of withdrawal. After 14 days, payments are not refunded, but you can still cancel future renewals at any time.

Price changes. We will e-mail you at least 30 days before a price change applies to your subscription.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF TITLE, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE MAKE NO WARRANTY THAT:

THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, INTERRUPTIONS THAT OCCUR IN THE CONTEXT OF REGULARLY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE);

ANY INFORMATION OR ADVICE OBTAINED BY YOU IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE; OR

THE RESULTS OF USING THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW EXCLUSION OF AN IMPLIED WARRANTY, SO THIS DISCLAIMER MAY NOT APPLY TO USERS.
